Egypt led easily 2-0 before the Libyan team entered the match late in the third set to improve to 1-2 before the Egyptians regained their consistency to win the fourth set and the match 3-1. Egypt improved their win-loss ratio to 3-0 raising their points to 9. Libya dropped to 0-3 and still with 0 points.
Tunisia came back late to clinch a tough five set win over Algeria 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 16-14) in a fantastic 135 minutes of thrilling volleyball.
In another grueling tiebreaker Morocco pulled off a 3-2 (25-23, 25-20, 26-28, 17-25, 15-13) over Cameroon in the tournaments longest match (148 min). Morocco scored five consecutive points in the first set to turn the score from 20-23 to win the set 25-23. The Moroccan team became highly motivated to win the second set and lost two match points in the third set before Cameroon improved the score to 2-1. The West Africans continued with high motivations to win the fourth set, but Morocco came on time to win the tiebreak 15-13 and their third match in the competition to improve to 3-0 with 7 points and claim the second position in the standings.
