Jose Jardim with the trophy
It was the battle for first trophy of the season. Benfica, champion of Portugal, facedA.J.F. Bastardo, cup winner, in Supercup, and after a five sets of great volleyball Eagles came out victorious.
– It is very important that we won this game at the start of the season. Supercup trophy is just the result of hard work in previous seasons. I want to thank to all people who was supporting us, especially to the fans who came to the Arena and showed they believe in this team – said Jose Jardim, coach of Benfica.
This is the fourth time that Benfica has won Portuguese Supercup.
