The competition consists of a single round-robin tournament with five participating teams (Qatar, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait and Algeria), with the title going to the top-ranked team.
In the opening match UAE face Kuwait while Egypt, who have won the past three editions of the women’s event, play Qatar.
