In the women’s draw, USA’s Sara Hughes & Kelly Cheng battled to a 2-1 (21-18, 17-21, 15-12) victory over Italy’s Valentina Gottardi & Marta Menegatti in a thrilling three-set match. Hughes & Cheng will meet Switzerland’s Tanja Huberli & Nina Brunner in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
