Emilce “Mimi” Sosa, one of the most iconic players in the Argentinean volleyball women’s national team, is also an accomplished football player and once in a while she takes the chance to show her outstanding skills maneuvering the ball.

That was the case before the match of Argentina and Costa Rica in the Pan American Cup on Sunday when Mimi celebrated the victory of Argentina over Bosnia, putting a show of tricks of ball touches using her feet, knees and head much to the delight of the fans at Carlos Martinez Balmori Gymnasium.

“Football is my passion,” Sosa was quoted last December from Romania in a story published by El Comercial, a daily newspaper of Formosa. “I played football with my father since I had use of reason.”

She claims to have a personal record of 265 consecutive head touches, something she continues to do now with the volleyball.

Mimi, who helped Stiinta Bacau to consecutive crowns in the Romanian League the past two seasons, is participating in her fourth consecutive Pan American Cup. She was also the captain of Argentina at the last FIVB World Cup in Japan in 2011 where her team claimed victories over Dominican Republic and Kenya to finish in the 10th position.
