Peru captain Angela Leyva: “Today I was not 100 per cent. My team needed me and we were supposed to fight until the end, but things did not go as I wanted. We didn’t get our momentum and I felt like giving up. However, my team is working well and we must move forward.”

Peru coach Natalia Malaga: “Congratulations to Belgium for the win, they worked very well with the block and attack, while we had no variation in the game. We couldn’t pass by their block, and now we have to find more variation in attack.”

Belgium captain Charlotte Leys: “We are happy because it’s our first win in the World Grand Prix ever. We did things well and our attack was good.”

Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek:I’m very happy because it’s the first win in the history of Belgium in the Grand Prix. We did a great job on defence and I hope to add another victory tomorrow.”
