WoV DREAM TEAM: Who is your favorite female setter?

by WoV

The setter is much like the quarterback in American football or the point guard in basketball. She is in charge of the offense. It doesn't matter how good a team's hitters are if it doesn't have a setter that can consistently deliver a good ball to hit. These are females setters for which you can vote in our WoV Dream Team competition.

Maja Ognjenović is a member of Chemik Police. She was elected for the best setter at the Champions league Final Four in this season (check her stats). She will also play in Orlenliga’s playoff semifinals. A few weeks ago, Maja played national cup final match, but Trefl Sopot beat Chemik Police.

Vakifbank won the third place at Champions league Final Four and Naz Aydemir Akyol was a part of this success. This is her third season I Vakif’s jersey and she is doing her job very good. She will play in Turkish league playoffs and national cup Final Four. See Naz’s stats in this season.

Nootsara Tomkom is Rabita’s setter and she is having a good season. With the Azerbaijani team she advanced to finals of the national championship and in the finals they are absolute favorite. Check Nootsara’s stats in season 2014/2015.

Fabiola de Souza has won the national cup with Dinamo Krasnodar and played in CEV Cup semifinals. They didn’t manage to reach domestic championship semifinals. Check out the stats of the Brazilian setter in season 2014/2015.

Evgeniya Startseva plays her third season in Dinamo jersey. The team from Kazan is the first favorite for winning the Russian championship title and they are two steps away from that goal. See her stats in this season.

I don’t know what happened with Chemik and Vakif in Szczecin but Naz and Maja are my favorites. Maja deserves award for the best setter. My vote goes to her!
