After they both achieved premiere wins on Day 1 of Pool B in Canberra, Australia, host national team and Japan did the same on Day 2, and again without dropping a single set.
Australia outclassed Thailand, who was free on Day 1 since Pool B has odd number of contestants, by a 25-20, 25-21, 25-19, while Japan swept New Zealand by a 25-11, 25-16, 25-10.
Now, both Australia and Japan have 2-0 and 6 points in the rankings. The two best teams from each pool (Pool A will set off on August 10) will advance to the World Championship.
