In the last round of Pool B, the 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalists China, who came to the tournament with a rejuvenated squad, were brutal against Australia in a direct duel for the next stage, 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-9). Earlier, Japan secured their berth in the Top 8 as the pool leaders.
The last round in the other three groups only served to determine the order of the teams in each pool for the next stage: Kazakhstan beat Philippines in straight sets in Pool A, South Korea defended Vietnam in four sets in Pool C, while Thailand outclassed Chinese Taipei in Pool D by a 3-0. The winners will go to the Top 8 as first placed teams while the losers will see next stage as second placed sides.

Pool F – Japan, China, Thailand, Chinese Taipei
