By beating Liaoning on the road by a 3-0 (25-10, 25-21, 25-18), Beijing (Jiang Chuan 18 points, 4 aces) closed the first part of the season with a perfect record – 12 of 12, and logically, as the leaders in their Pool B.
In the same pool, Guangdong and Sichuan played an exciting match in which Sichuan prevailed by a 3-2. It was a shooters showdown that ended with a tie – both Matteo Martino, the Italian from Guangdong, and Leonardo Leyva, Cuban from Sichuan, delivered 27 points.
