In the month of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Brazil’s first Olympic appearance (1920 Antwerp) and also the first-ever Olympic medal, 100 journalists chose the greatest names that represented this South American country in the event. The overall result of the election showed that volleyball players dominated.
Out of 95 athletes that were voted, as many as 20 volleyball players found their places on the list of the greatest Brazilian Olympic competitors. It’s, by far, the sport with the greatest presence. Track and field was the second-placed sport with 11 athletes on the list.
