BRA M: Blumenau achieve epic victory, beating current world champions Cruzeiro in Round 4

APAN/Eleva (more commonly known as Blumenau) stunned Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei in Round 4 of the 2022–23 Brazilian Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Blumenau experienced a historic moment at the end of Round 4’s match of the 2022-23 Superliga 1XBET Masculina at home against Cruzeiro. Those 2,000 spectators at the Ginásio Sebastião Cruz hall, more commonly known as Galegão, in Santa Catarina, witnessed an epic victory of their team over the reigning club world champions but also the Brazilian champions by 3 sets to 2, with partials of 18-25, 25-22, 27-25, 20-25, and 15-12.

Vítor Baesso top-scored on the winning side with 22 points. Éder Levi Kock and Robson Gomes ‘Robinho’ recorded 6 blocks each. Cuban Miguel Ángel López tallied 27 points for Cruzeiro, while Rodrigo Leão ‘Rodriguinho’ made 82% reception (11 digs, 45% excellent). With the positive result, Blumenau reached 5 points and took 7th place in the table. Cruzeiro, in turn, have 10 points and remained in 3rd place following a first defeat in the competition.
