BRA M: Brazilian Volleyball Confederation Unveils Men’s Team for Pan American Cup

The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) has announced the selection of a youthful men’s team, average age 22, for the upcoming Pan American Cup set to take place in Mexico from August 13 to 31. This ensemble includes talented players who had earlier represented Brazil at the U-21 World Championship and key performers from the last edition of the men’s Superliga.

Jorge Bichara, the CBV’s Technical Director, explains that the Pan American Cup forms part of the CBV’s commitment to facilitate a seamless generational transition within its ranks, thereby shaping the new generation of players. It is not only focused on major tournaments like the South American and the Pre-Olympic but also on other tournaments that aid in the intergenerational transition. The ultimate aim is to foster a cohesive approach, with regular interaction between the adult and base technical commissions.

Carlos Schwanke, Renan dal Zotto’s assistant coach, will lead Brazil during the Pan American Cup. Meanwhile, Renan will be busy training another group of athletes, focusing on the South American Championship and the Pre-Olympic. The supporting technical team will include Mauricio Thomas (technical assistant), Guilherme Berriel (physical trainer), Aridone Borgonovo (physiotherapist), Felipe Laurentino (statistician), and Dr. André Gismonti.
