
Osasco beats Flamengo in comeback thriller
In a fiery Superliga 2024/25 quarterfinal opener, Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde turned the tables on rivals Sesc RJ Flamengo with a 3-1 comeback win (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-16) at home.
Natália Zilio led with 19 points, while Tifanny Abreu added 16. Middle blocker Larissa Besen was named MVP after scoring 12 and dominating the block. Osasco now leads the series 1-0. Game two is set for April 2 in Rio—Flamengo must win to force a decider.
Praia Clube takes control against Maringá
In second quarterfinal clash, Dentil/Praia Clube showed their strength with a 3-1 away win over Unilife Maringá (25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17). Russian outside hitter Sofya Kuznetsova led all scorers with 22 points. Adenízia Silva added 12 and led the team with 5 blocks. Praia can close the series at home on April 5 in Uberlândia.
