Isbel Mesa
Taubaté/Funvic is back in training and is already preparing for the games in the new season – in the Regional Games of Taubaté that will begin in July. It was the first meeting of the team since the playoff semi-finals of the Brazilian Super League in April.
The team from Paraíba Valley announced the signing of Cuban middle blocker Isbel Mesa. He was defending the colors of Ciudad Habana last season.
Mesa is one of 3 players that refused to play for the national team of Cuba in the 2015 World league.
So far, Taubaté has 15 names confirmed among renewals and signings:
Receivers: Lipe, Lucarelli, Japa, Ricardo Júnior; Setters: Rapha, Pedro; Middle blockers: Deivid, Otávio, Iálisson, Riad, Mesa; Liberos: Diego, Felipe; Opposites: Leozão, Schmitt.
