In the opening set Italy simply was much better than the Serbian side! At the very beginning Italians made 12-5, and 14-7 advantage!

Grbić managed somehow to wake up his lads and they came back and were trailing only by one 24-23! But Berruto’s team took the chance to win the set, 25-23!

It was obvious that Serbia started controlling the match. They were late in the first set, but in the second set they were dominating from the very beginning and they didn’t have problems to tie the score (25-14).

Serbia again started much better the set but Italians found some new solutions and in some way surprised the rival!

Italy took the lead in sets again!

Nikola Grbić knew that the team had to play much better to survive in match! Serbia again opened game very well and after a few good serves they had 9-4 lead in the fourth set.

Italians only managed to decrease the lead of Serbia but Grbic’s side outscored the rival in the end 25-20! The teams went to tie-break!

After trailing by one, Berruto’s team made a very good three blocks and with amazing Gianneli who scored three aces, Italy had 8-1 lead! It was definitelly the end for the Serbian side. Italy took very important win!

Recall that Italians played without main players.
