In order to prevent injuries, Brazilian volleyball club Canoas decided to “steal” some trainings from football. Players of Canoas underwent special FMS (Functional Movement System) trainings, which are used by some major football teams including Bayern Munich.

Players were doing sets of pushups, squats, stretches and rotations to check if there is any deficiency.

“You ned to have an overall score above 14 to know that you are far away from injury, and the average score of our team was between 17 and 19 which is very good. There are some specific deficiencies which will we correct in physical work with players” said Guilherme Berriel, member of the Canoas coaching staff.
