Despite playing without some of the best players (Wallace De Souza and Murilo Endres), Brazil scored a win against Slovenia in Ljubljana. Head coach Bernardo Rezende used the match to try several options in his game plan, while the top scorers this time were Evandro Guerra with 18 points and Ricardo Lucarelli with 16.

On the other side Slovenia showed some very good resistance to powerful opponent. Mitja Gasparini was the best scorer in the home team with 15 points, while Klemen Cebulj added 12.
