Turning point of the match occurred in the third set which was played on point difference. When Sada Cruzeiro took it 27-25, they went all the way boosted by the crowd.

The match was marked by the clash of two Cuban stars. Yoandy Leal of Sada Cruzeiro was more successful and scored 22 points, being the only player with double digits in his team. Wilfredo León had 19 in Zenit and was supported by Matthew Anderson and Viktor Poletaev. Both scored 10 points.
Sada Cruzeiro regained trophy for the best club in the world that they won two years ago, also in Betim.
