Iran downed reigning champions Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 25-15) in the fifth consecutive final between these two teams.
The tallest volleyball player in the world, Morteza Mehrzadselakjani, established absolute domination on the court in Riocentro gymnasium, leading Iran towards gold medal with 28 points.
Iranian players did not celebrate the success with full joy due to death of their compatriot, the cyclist Bahman Golbarnezhad, who suffered an accident in the road race at the Paralympics previous day.
Egypt defeated Brazil 3-2 for bronze medal.
USA took gold medal in Women’s competition.
