This year’s edition of the tournament is 12th and is one of the strongest ever while the eight-team formula brings even more excitement. Especially, if we know that two major favorites for winning the gold medal, Russian Zenit and Brazilian Cruzeiro, were put in the same pool. Brazilian side defends the trophy. Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei: Brazilian and also South American champions stand as favorites number one for the gold medal which they took last year by defeating Zenit in the final. Unlike previous few seasons, Cruzeiro miss some big names, but still have enough who already proved themselves on the international level

Taichung Bank: Club from Chinese Taipei will make its debut in the Club World Championship. Taichung booked a ticket for the tournament by winning 2015 Asian Club Championship. They are young team but also not too tall (average 1.88m) but with well recognized coach in that part of the world, Cheng Ke-Chou.

Tala’ea El-Geish: Egyptian powerhouse found itself at the tornament by claiming the most recent African Club Championship. On that continent, El-Geish is highly dominant and main reason for that is the fact they have several Egyptian National Team members.

Zenit Kazan: Russian giants, who won every single trophy in Russia last season as well as a title in the CEV Champions League European, want to finally grab the only trophy that they are missing – Club World Championship. So far, Zenit have won one silver and two bronze medals. Their biggest strength is player’s interaction since the composition of the team has not been changed for years.
