Osasco vs. Fluminense
Superliga newcomers did not give up without a fight but succumbed to more experienced players of Osasco 3-2 (25-18, 26-28, 22-25, 25-16, 15-12). With this win and even with one match less, the team coached by Luizomar de Moura approached to the second placed Dentil/Praia Clube to only one point and minimized the gap comparing to the leaders Rexona-Sesc to eight points. Both Praia Clube and Rexona currently compete at the 2017 South American Club Women’s Volleyball Championship. Gabriella Souza ‘Dau’ highlighted Osasco with 21 points while Juliana Costa ‘Ju Costa’ had 18 for Fluminense.
Signing with Jaqueline Carvalho ‘Jaque’ and Destinee Hooker in mid-season quickly began to pay off to Camponesa/Minas! They achieved seventh consecutive victory in Superliga and secured playoff spot. Now, Minas will fight for the best position in the standings in the last five rounds. American Hooker was unstoppable in away 3-1 win of her team against Terracap/BTB/Brasília Vôlei, partially 25-15, 24-26, 25-15, 25-13, with 26 points. Amanda Francisco had 13 for the losing squad.
