The Cuban middle blocker has obviously blended in the environment in which he competes – Brazil. And, Brazilians are well known for their football skills, which are probably the best in the world. Thus, their athletes do not hesitate to use these skills in volleyball as well.
Considering he doesn’t come from a country whose footballers are quite famous, in a pre-season match between his Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Argentinian Ciudad Vóley, Simón only did what his Brazilian teammates often do. And then, he did what HE often does – he blocked!
