In Game 1 of the finals of the São Paulo state championship, Taubaté defeated Corinthians-Guarulhos 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16) at home. The first team that reaches two wins will become the titleholder. In case Corinthians down the rivals in the rematch, the Golden Set will decide on the tournament winners.
Same rules apply for the Women’s competition in which the five-time consecutive champions Vôlei Nestlé/Osasco made the first step in advancing to the finals as they beat Genter Vôlei Bauru 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23) on the road.
In the other semifinal encounter, the hosts Hinode Barueri defeated E.C. Pinheiros 3-1 (25-9, 21-25, 27-25, 26-24).
