Renata Valinhos/Country (SP) will replace Rio do Sul (SC), which have been withdrawn from the competition due to financial problems.
According to Rule No. 7 of the Brazilian Confederation of Volleyball (CBV), the team that gives up the competition will have the replacement with the 11th ranked team in the 2016/2017 Superliga; in this case that is Sesi-SP.
As the team from São Paulo is already in the Superliga, then their place will take the 12th ranked team in the last edition, the team Renata Valinhos/Country (SP). That will be their third consecutive season in Superliga.
