One of the title favorites EMS Taubaté Funvic needed as much as two and a half hours to overpower underdogs Lebes/Canoas in Round 15 game of Superliga held in the city Gramado to remain the fourth-placed in the standings, 3-2 (25-27, 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11).
Both sides made a stunning serving (10 aces apiece) and blocking display (Taubaté 15 kill blocks, Canoas 12 kill blocks). Wallace Souza delivered 22 points for the winning side for which Otávio Pinto scored the same number of points but with 8 kill blocks included! Aboubacar Neto “Abou” notched 28 points (5 aces, 4 kill blocks) for Canoas.
All three teams ranked above Taubaté – Sada Cruzeiro, Sesc-RJ, and Sesi-SP, respectively – scored three-point wins in this round.
