Portuguese titleholders Benfica Lisboa came very near to qualifying to the 3rd Round of the 2020 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League.

Benfica Lisboa ran over Champions League debutants OK Budva from Montenegro at home in the first leg of the 2nd Round: 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-18). Benfica’s attack was so successful today that it left rivals without a single block throughout the entire game. Numbers don’t lie and they say that Benfica had a 75% team’s attack success rate and 75% positive reception. It was by far better output in both elements compared to the Montenegrin side: 55% attack and 60% reception.

Austrian international Peter Wohlfahrtstätter top-scored for Benfica with 13 points, while libero Ivo Casas made 80% reception (15 digs, 53% excellent). The opposite hitter from the Dominican Republic, Henry Omar Tapia, scored as many as 44% of all of Budva’s points: 22 points.
