“The CEV Board of Administration agreed to cancel the remainder of the 2020 European Cups, including the CEV Champions League Volley Super Finals scheduled for May 16 in Berlin, after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic brought these competitions to a standstill in March. Regardless of not being able to finalize the European Cups season, the Board agreed to allocate more than 80% of the anticipated prize money to the teams across the three Cups. Moreover, the CEV Board committed already to maintain the prize money for the 2020/2021 edition of the European Cups and approved additional support to the clubs for the upcoming season.”
Also, CEV have announced that they will support the European Volleyball Community with 11,5 million euros:
“In an effort to deal with the challenges brought by the coronavirus pandemic and to revitalize the members of the Volleyball family, the CEV Board of Administration approved earlier today – as the first European sports institution to do so – an unprecedented ‘Marshall Plan’ for European Volleyball. This plan includes a series of measures that account for the investment and reliefs of about € 11.5 million for the benefit of the CEV’s stakeholders.”
