Ukraine emerged victorious in the Women’s 2023 CEV Volleyball European Golden League, clinching gold medals and the prestigious title. They defeated Sweden in a fiercely contested Finals, proving their dominance in the this year edition of the Golden League.
In the first game of the finals, Ukraine prevailed over Sweden with a straight 3-0 set victory, establishing a substantial advantage for the next match.
During the subsequent rematch in Sweden, Ukraine outshone Sweden once again, winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 32-30). This second straight-set victory ensured their claim over the prestigious trophy. Despite a notable performance by Sweden’s star player, Isbelle Haak, who scored an impressive 31 points, it wasn’t enough to topple the Ukrainian powerhouse.
Leading the winning charge for Ukraine were Oleksandra Milenko and Anastasiia Kraiduba, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively. Their valuable contribution proved instrumental in cementing Ukraine’s triumphant performance in this year’s league.
