In the opening match of Pool D in the Volleyball Champions League, Jastrzębski Węgiel, the reigning Polish champions, displayed a commanding performance against Spain’s Guaguas Las Palmas. Jastrzębski Węgiel, led by coach Marcelo Mendez, clinched two sets by the narrowest margins, with the third set being particularly intense. The Spaniards initially led 8-2, but the Polish team made a remarkable comeback to take the set 26-24. Polish stars Tomasz Fornal and Norbert Huber were exceptional, with attack rates of 68% and 93%, respectively.
