Croatia’s women’s national volleyball team clinched a 3-1 victory over host nation Greece in the opening match of the 2025 European Golden League held in Kozani. After dropping the first set 23-25, Croatia roared back with three consecutive set wins—25-19, 25-23, and 25-21—marking a dominant debut.
Croatian squad quickly found their rhythm after a shaky start. Andrea Mihaljević led the scoring with an impressive 24 points, while Josipa Marković and Božana Butigan added 21 and 20 points, respectively.
Despite Greece’s strong start and home-crowd support, they couldn’t maintain their lead. Critical moments slipped away, particularly in the third and fourth sets, where Croatia’s serving precision and solid blocks made the difference.
