Projekt Warszawa Stuns Trentino in Golden Set Thriller to Reach Champions League Quarterfinals

PGE Projekt Warszawa completed a dramatic comeback to eliminate Italian champions Itas Trentino and advance to the CEV Champions League quarterfinals after a thrilling playoff clash lasting 168 minutes.

The Polish side won the second leg 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-12) before sealing qualification with a 15-11 victory in the Golden Set. Projekt Warszawa will now face Bogdanka LUK Lublin in an all-Polish quarterfinal matchup.

Trentino appeared in control after winning the second and third sets 25-19, 25-19, putting the hosts within one set of qualification. However, Warszawa responded strongly to claim the fourth set 25-21 and force a tie-break.

In the deciding set, the Polish side held their nerve to win 15-12, sending the match to the Golden Set. Trentino led early 7-4, but Warszawa rallied to take the lead and close the set 15-11, completing the comeback.
