CEV CL W: Conegliano Advance to Final Four Despite Five-Set Loss to Zeren

A. Carraro Prosecco DOC Conegliano booked their place in the CEV Champions League Final Four after a hard-fought quarter-final tie, despite suffering a 3-2 home defeat to Zeren Spor Kulübü Ankara.

The Italian side progressed thanks to their dominant 3-0 victory in the first leg, securing qualification after winning the opening two sets on home court. That result was enough to confirm their spot in Istanbul, where they will continue their bid for a third consecutive European title.

Conegliano started strongly, taking the first two sets 25-21 and 25-17. However, Ankara responded with determination, claiming the next three sets in a dramatic turnaround to end Conegliano’s 29-match winning streak.

Aleksandra Uzelac led all scorers with 28 points for Ankara, supported by Anna Lazareva with 22. For Conegliano, Zhu Ting delivered 24 points, while Isabelle Haak added 14.

Ankara exit the competition at the quarter-final stage but leave with a statement win over the reigning champions, while Conegliano move on to the Final Four in Istanbul on May 2–3.
