Playing in front of 2,813 fans at the Eurosuole Forum, the Polish side controlled much of the match. They edged a competitive opening set before comfortably taking the second.

Civitanova showed resistance in a dramatic third set, pushing the visitors deep into extra points, but Zawiercie held their nerve to seal the sweep.

Setter Miguel Tavares earned MVP honours for orchestrating a composed and effective performance.

Top scorers:

  • Civitanova: Aleksandar Nikolov (17), Eric Loeppky (11)
  • Zawiercie: Aaron Russell (12), Bartosz Kwolek (10)

The result leaves Zawiercie in a strong position ahead of the return leg on April 2 in Sosnowiec, where Civitanova must produce a significantly improved performance to stay in contention.
