Two injury incidents dampened an otherwise thrilling night in the CEV Women’s Champions League semi-finals, with Elif Sahin and Katarina Dangubic both injured in separate matches.

Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul secured a dramatic 3–2 win over Savino Del Bene Scandicci, finishing strongly with a 15–8 tie-break. Moments after the final point, however, Sahin went down during celebrations, clutching her ankle in a concerning scene.
In the first semi-final, VakifBank Istanbul rallied from behind to defeat A. Carraro Prosecco Doc Conegliano 3–2. The match was interrupted when Dangubic landed awkwardly following an attack and had to be carried off by medical staff.
VakifBank released an official update regarding Katarina Dangubić, and club confirmed that her initial medical examinations were carried out at Academic Hospital, VakifBank’s health sponsor.
According to the statement, the club’s medical team has already started treatment. Her exact condition will become clear after further advanced tests are completed. VakifBank concluded by informing the public that updates will follow once the medical assessment is finalized.
With both injuries yet to be fully assessed, uncertainty now hangs over the final, where Eczacibasi and VakifBank will meet for the European title.
