CEV W: Slovakia Complete EuroLeague Semifinal Line-Up

Slovakia secured the final spot in the CEV Volleyball European League 2026 semifinals and booked qualification for EuroVolley 2028 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Georgia.

The Slovaks completed the League Round with a perfect record of six wins from six matches, joining Slovenia, Sweden and Hungary in the final four. Their emphatic win in Tbilisi removed any remaining qualification doubts and secured a place among Europe’s top emerging teams.

Slovenia finished top of the standings after completing the preliminary phase without dropping a set. The unbeaten leaders wrapped up their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over North Macedonia.

Sweden claimed second place following a straight-sets victory against Albania, while Hungary finished third after defeating Kosovo to maintain its unbeaten record.

The semifinals will be played over two legs, with Hungary facing Sweden and Slovakia taking on top-ranked Slovenia.

Lithuania End Campaign on Historic High

In other matches, Lithuania celebrated a memorable 3-2 victory over Romania, producing one of the biggest surprises of the final round.

Despite Romania entering the match as favorites, the hosts fought back after surrendering a two-set lead to claim the deciding set 15-10 in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.The match also marked the end of Šalkutė’s playing career. The Lithuanian captain was named MVP and received an emotional standing ovation from fans after helping her team secure a landmark win.
