The CEV Board of Administration has confirmed five wildcard entries for the 2027 CEV Champions League Volley, strengthening both the men’s and women’s competitions with established European clubs.

Italy’s Itas Trentino, Spain’s Guaguas Las Palmas and Romania’s Dinamo Bucuresti have received wildcards for the men’s tournament. In the women’s competition, Italy’s Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Türkiye’s Galatasaray Daikin Istanbul have secured direct places in the group stage.
Trentino return with a distinguished Champions League record, having won four titles, including three consecutive trophies between 2009 and 2011. The Italian side also claimed the 2024 title in Antalya and will look to return to the top after an injury-hit season.
Guaguas Las Palmas have continued to raise Spain’s profile in European volleyball. The club reached the quarter-finals in both 2024 and 2026.
Dinamo Bucuresti bring significant continental history, having won the former CEV Champions Cup three times. The Romanian club will aim to build on that legacy as it returns to Europe’s premier club competition.
In the women’s field, Novara enter as former Champions League winners and recent CEV Challenge Cup and CEV Cup champions. Galatasaray return to the competition for the first time since 2018 after winning the CEV Cup earlier this year, the first European trophy in the club’s history.
CEV President Roko Sikirić said the applications highlighted the growing appeal of the competition and the ambition of clubs across Europe.
The full list of participating teams will be announced later, while the draw for all European club competitions is scheduled for July 15 at 12:00 CEST.
