Finland secured the 2026 European League Men title with a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands in the second leg of the final, completing an unbeaten campaign with 10 wins from 10 matches.
After taking the opening leg 3-1 in Nokia, Finland entered the return match needing another victory to seal the championship. The Dutch required a win to force a decisive Golden Set, but the visitors controlled the contest, recovering from dropping the second set to close out another 3-1 success.
The title provides a timely boost for Finland ahead of the 2026 CEV EuroVolley, where the Finns and the Netherlands are set to meet again in the group stage in Tampere.
Luka Marttila led Finland with 22 points and was named the Finals Most Valuable Player after starring in both championship matches.
The top four teams in this year’s European League – Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Israel – also secured qualification for the 2028 CEV EuroVolley Men.
Result: Netherlands – Finland 1-3 (15-25, 25-20, 18-25, 21-25). Finland won the final 2-0 on aggregate.
