Poland reached the EuroVolley 2026 semifinals after completing a straight-sets victory over Germany in Sofia.
Germany kept the opening set close, but Poland produced the stronger finish to take it 25-23. The defending champions controlled the second set before recovering from an early German advantage in the third to seal the quarterfinal without dropping a set.
Wilfredo León led the Polish attack with 17 points, while Bartłomiej Bołądź scored 13. Erik Röhrs finished with a team-high 12 points for Germany.
Poland converted 61% of their attacks, compared with Germany’s 43%, and held a 48-36 advantage in attacking points. Germany also conceded 24 points through errors, while Poland committed 16.
The victory sends Poland into the European Championship medal round for the fourth consecutive tournament. They will face the winner of Belgium vs Slovenia in the semifinals in Milan.
