After losing in the opening round of this season’s edition of the strongest club competition in Europe, and wider, Saint-Raphaël suffered another defeat in Pool C, to Polish representatives Tauron Dąbrowa Górnicza 3-1 (25-18, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22).
Both teams stood out in blocking, making this match very attractive to watch – 15 to 12 for Dąbrowa Górnicza. Polish side proved to be better in both excellent reception (32% to 16%) and attack (44% to 34%) to reach 1-1 in the competition.
Outside hitter Daria Paszek from the winning team scored game-high 21 points, followed by Czech opposite Helena Horká with 20. Belgian outside hitter Liesbet Vindevoghel had 17 in Saint-Raphaël.
