Dinamo vs. Zaksa
Polish PlusLiga title holders and, since recently, Polish Cup gold medalists Zaksa, relatively easy downed Russian Superliga runners-up Dinamo Moscow 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 28-30, 25-20) in Round 3 to remain isolated at the top of the standings in Pool A with 3-0. On the other hand, Dinamo suffered their first defeat in the tournament. Ferdinando De Giorgi’s wards established supremacy in reception (59% to 38%) while Belgian Sam Deroo dominated in attack with 19 points. Yuriy Berezhko highlighted Dinamo with 17 points.

In Pool B, German Berlin Recycling Volleys swept Czech side Dukla Liberec on road in straight sets, taking the leadership in the standings. Liberec remained winless. Canadian Graham Vigrass was the most efficient player in BR Volleys with 12 points (4 aces) while the Pole Sławomir Stolc had 11 points for the losing team, including 3 aces.
