Reigning Champions League winners Casalmaggiore could have returned home much happier since they had 2-0 lead in sets but allowed hosts Allianz MTV Stuttgart from Germany to make a comeback. Still, Casalmaggiore prevail in the tie-break and will have to win 3-0 or 3-1 in rematch to avoid golden set. Both teams had a huge blocking display (15-13 for Italian team) while individually, Romanian Carmen Țurlea highlighted visitors with 26 points. Czech Michaela Mlejnková had 24 for Stuttgart.
Busto achieved 3-1 win versus Hungarian representatives Linamar-Békéscsabai RSE with 24 points from Valentina Diouf. Gréta Szakmáry noted 15 for the hosts.
