Elitsa Vasileva, captain of Bulgaria cannot wait for the start of the tournament.
“The atmosphere within our team is good as always – we have been playing together for almost ten years now, We all feel good and there are no big injuries. We only had some problems with two of our players until five days ago, but now it is all right and I guess this is the most important thing. We want each of the 14 players to be OK for these big, important games” said Vasileva and added:
“As far as goals go, first we want to get out of the group and then we can think of something more, Our team’s history in the European Championship shows that it has always been hard to advance from the pool. It is bad to set this as your goal but for the time being it is just this one.”
When asked for her personal goal, however, Vasileva sounded a lot more ambitious: “Maybe a medal.”
