What is the main goal of Serbia at this European Championship?

Like always we will try to reach the podium. Of course, we will go step by step but I have to admit that It will be an interesting tournament. There is no easy game or opponent but we hope for the best.“

How far can Serbia go – you had some changes in the team since Olympic Games in Rio and ECH 2015?

Honestly, till the end. We had some changes in the team but we showed in Grand Prix that we can still play on the high level. We are a young team but we know each other since youth category. Many of us played together in the clubs and also the important European and World’s championships, so we are homogeneous. These 14 players are here, so we’ll see whether our goals are realistic“

In your opinion who are the favorites?

Oh, there are many teams that can be favorites! Russia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Italy, Azerbaijan and of course Serbia!

Few words about the Serbian opponents in Pool D – the Netherlands, Belgium and the Czech Republic:

All three teams are really strong and we respect them. They have strong attackers and we are prepared for three difficult games. The first one is against Czech and we will do our best to defeat them“ explained Stefana Veljković,

Serbia will play their first match at EuroVolley today at 17:00 local time (15:00 CET) against the Czech Republic.
