Receiver/outside hitter Nikolay Penchev unexpectedly refused to train with the national team and asked head coach Plamen Konstantinov to skip the matches of the World League.
This happens only a week after Bulgaria won a very strong international tournament „Hubert Wagner Memorial“ in Poland, where Penchev played on a high level. As sportal.bg revealed, the most probable reason for Penchev’s decision is burnout due to tough season.
He spent 2015/2016 in the Polish Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, where he remained on the bench during the most of the season.
