BUL M: They entered playoffs as No.4 but took the title – Neftohimik champions of Bulgaria

Neftohimik

Neftohimik

The players coached by Petar Dochev won Game 4 of the Superliga playoff finals against Montana Volley 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19) to take the series by 3-1.

Thus, fourth seed Neftohimik grabbed championship in Bulgaria for the second time in club history, first one after 2007, and won the right to play in the qualifiers of the 2018 CEV Champions League. On the other hand, Montana took bronze medal for the second consecutive year, despite reaching playoff finals. It was due to the fact they finished No. 2 in the Regular Season. Silver medal goes to CSKA Sofia, who were eliminated in the semifinals, namely by the new champions, but won the Regular Season.

Neftohimik middle blocker Nikolay Nikolov had an awesome display in Game 4, scoring game-high 25 points (7 blocks, 61% in attack), while Mincho Minchev had 20 in Montana.
