Barkom-Kazhany
Four-time defending champions of Ukraine, Lokomotyv Kharkiv, are definitely in the crisis after suffering the second defeat in a row in Superliga, third overall this season, but remained in the lead in the standings. They lost to the third-placed VK Barkom-Kazhany Lviv by a 3-1 (26-28, 25-21, 36-34, 25-22). Interestingly, these two sides will meet again, in less than a month, in the national cup final. More precisely, their gold medal encounter is scheduled on February 17th.
Lokomotyv’s closest followers, VK MHP-Vinnytsia (also known as VNAU), scored the 8th win in a row as they beat the last-placed KP VK Dnipro 3-1 and approached to the titleholders to only 3 points, having one victory less compared to them.
