Waldviertel
In big match of Round 13 in MEVZA (Middle European) league, the Austrian side SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob defeated Calcit Volley Kamnik from Slovenia after making a huge comeback from 0-2 to 3-2 to stay fourth in the standings. At the same time, Posojilnica came three points and one win near to today’s rivals, who are third-placed. The Slovakian international Michal Petráš led Posojilnica with 25 points, while Žan Novljan notched 14 points (3 kill blocks) for Calcit.
The other representatives of Austria in the tournament, Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel, are still in the race for No.4. After defeating Spartak Myjava from Slovakia in Round 14 game by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18), they remained the nearest followers of Posojilnica, being only three points behind them, but having two wins less. The Portuguese João Oliveira was the best scorer of Waldviertel, who made 14 kill blocks as a team, with 18 points. Jakub Petráš scored 19 points for Myjava.
