In a derby of the two best-placed sides in the Elitserien, Linköpings VC swept Hylte/Halmstad at home in Week 7 by a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 28-26) to improve their record to a 21-1 and 59 points, making a 9-point gap compared to Hylte/Halmstad. At the same time, Linköpings scored the 17th straight win and broke rival’s winning streak of 7 games. The Serbian Petar Turanjanin made a surreal blocking display of 9 kill blocks, finishing the game as the most efficient player on the winning side with 15 points. The American Nicholas Goodell topped Hylte/Halmstad with 26 points.

The battle for No.4 in the regular stage (the last spot that secures home court advantage for the playoffs) heated up as the team that currently holds this position, Sollentuna, lost to the third-placed Falkenberg (in which Fayez Alloush scored 32 points and Brazilian Pedro Mendes added 9 kill blocks) by a 3-2. Thus, the No.5 at the moment, Örkelljunga, have the chance to come 3 points close to them in case they beat Södertelge tomorrow.
