Middelfart
The third-seed Middelfart defeated the top-seed Gentofte in Game 1 of the 2017/18 VolleyLigaen playoff finals by a 3-2 (14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12). This was the third encounter of these two sides this season and a first one in which Middelfart prevailed. All three ended with a tie-break.
Nicholas Hunt topped the winning side with 23 points. Jeppe Back Nielsen made 73% attack (11/15, 1 error, blocked once) and recorded 5 kill blocks.
Rasmus Mikelsons and Peter Trolle Bonnesen scored 17 points apiece for Gentofte. Mikelsons included 7 kill blocks. Tobias Hougs Kjær made 78% reception (18 digs, 67% perfect).
Game 2 is scheduled for April 12.
